Sometimes when you are stressed or angry, it helps to remember a situation where you felt calm or relaxed. Close your eyes and re-experience the peaceful event. Focus hard on remembering specifics. The act of remembering a particular event not only recalls your perceptions, it also recalls your emotions. The body's natural reaction to stress is very unhealthy. This method can help stop stress where it starts. Habits can be both bad and good. Seek out creating good habits and ridding yourself of the bad ones. Make a list of things to do and things not to do and act on it. Try someday doing things one at a time, slowly and deliberately. Try not to think about too much but exactly what you are doing at that moment. Do what you love, do what you love, do what you love and don't be afraid to fall out of love. In your life you will encounter many, many things. Documenting everything you want to remember, even if you think you could never forget it is important. Good ways to do this:
Just as important as a list of 'things to do is', so is a list of things 'not to do'. I have a habit of reading news too often and too much. When I'm bored my mouse magically navigates to the google news bookmark. I've removed it and "read news too much" is now on my list. |
